Districts in Dubai South

Golf District

The esteemed Emaar South community is an integral part of Golf City. Timeline - Notable Achievements

May 2024: Dubai South has signed an agreement with GEMS Education to establish the first world-class British school in the Dubai South Residential District. The GEMS Founders school will offer the British National Curriculum and is scheduled to open in August 2024.

May 2024: Dubai South and Aldar Properties have established a joint venture to develop a purpose-built facility for Kuehne+Nagel in the e-commerce hub of Dubai South's Logistics District. The logistics centre is set to be completed by the second quarter of 2025.

Feb 2024: Dubai South has formed a joint venture with Aldar Properties to build Grade A logistics facilities near Al Maktoum International Airport, which will include build-to-lease and build-to-suit options amid increasing demand from the logistics, e-commerce, and retail sectors. The first facility is set for completion by the end of 2024.

Nov 2023: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub in Dubai is set to develop a new 17,078 square metre three-story training facility in Dubai South for International Aviation Consulting and Training, the commercial arm of the GCAA. It will feature various training and assessment areas, multipurpose halls, and laboratories with sustainable design practices.

Jul 2023: According to Khalifa Al Zaffin, the Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, the population base in Dubai South will continue to expand with its full potential expected to unfold over the next few years.

Jan 2023: Over 700 companies were added to the business park in 2022.

Apr 2022: Dubai South signed up with Discovery Land for a new Dh1 billion luxury golf community. Discovery Land is a US firm that specialises in golf community residential developments. The project will cover two square kilometres and comprise mansions, villas and an 18-hole golf course. Discovery Land purchased the plot and plans to raise it to be ‘among the top golf course communities in the region’. This is the second golf-themed project at Dubai South, the first being Emaar South.

Transport and Access

Commute times by car

From Dubai South it takes roughly 46 minutes to drive to Dubai Mall, 43 minutes to Palm Jumeirah, 44 minutes to Burj Al Arab and 44 minutes to The Walk JBR.*

Airport proximity

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 58 minutes' drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 20 minutes' drive.*

Road access

Dubai South is directly linked to Jebel Ali Port via a dedicated logistics corridor that forms a single customs-bonded free zone spanning approximately 200 square kilometres. The zone provides businesses with the opportunity to access more than 6,400 registered companies, including over 120 of the Fortune Global 500 enterprises registered within the zone.

Public transport

The new Dubai Metro station at the Expo site connects Dubai South to all parts of the metro system. The line will be extended with a further three stations on the way to Al Maktoum International Airport where trains will terminate.
